Here at Nduro Events, we’re all about respecting and honouring the land we walk, run, bike and event on. Nothing is more important than looking after the Whenua and we’re working to put sustainability at the heart of what we do.
Looking to the beginning
Nduro Events was started in 2002 by Dean Watson and in 2006, after the UCI World Championships were held in Rotorua, the concept of the Whaka 100 was born. Dean Watson and Marcus Diprose took this and ran (or biked!) with it and the first Nduro Events in 2007. |

As the Nduro developed in size, set-up and reputation - there was also a change in ownership. At the end of 2013, Tim and Belinda Farmer took over Nduro Events from Marcus Diprose and Rawiri Bhana. Tim had just returned from overseas competing in the WEMBO - World 24 Hour Solo Mountain Bike Championships and, after being persuaded to enter the Whaka 100 five days later, took bronze in his age category and top 30 in the overall.
