Nduro Events delivers some of New Zealand’s biggest mountain biking and running events, including Whaka100, Run The Forest, Volcanic Epic, Highlander MTB Challenge and the Hanmer Half Marathon. We’re building our casual event crew and looking for practical, reliable people who want to be part of the action. From start lines and finish lines to course operations, expos, check-in, logistics and participant support, every role helps bring the event experience to life.

Participant Experience
For people who enjoy helping participants, customer service and creating a great event atmosphere.​

Who We ArE

Nduro Events has been delivering outdoor events since 2007. Today, we own and operate some of New Zealand’s most recognised mountain bike and trail running events, creating experiences that bring thousands of people together and support participation, tourism and local communities.

Participant Experience posItions

Participant Experience roles are all about helping people feel welcomed, informed and looked after across event weekend. These roles suit friendly, calm and reliable people who enjoy working with participants, supporters and the public.  Typically these shifts are on Friday, Saturday

Participant Check-in
Help welcome participants, check entry details, hand out race packs and make sure riders and runners are ready for event day.

Finish Line Lead
Support the finish line area, help manage participant flow and make sure finishers have a smooth, positive experience after completing their event.

Prize Giving
Help prepare and deliver prize giving, including medals, prizes, stage setup and participant support.

Information Desk
Be a key point of contact for participants and supporters, helping answer questions and direct people to the right place.

Event Merchandise Team
Assist with event merchandise sales, stock, displays and customer service across the event village.

Expo Team
Support the expo area, help exhibitors and keep the event village running smoothly for participants, supporters and partners.

VIP Hosting
Help look after invited guests, sponsors and key event partners, making sure they feel welcomed and supported during the event.

​Event Operations posItions

Event Operations roles help bring the event site to life. These roles suit practical, organised people who like being hands-on, working as part of a team and helping the event run smoothly behind the scenes. Typically these shifts for the duration of the event window unless otherwise stated.

Venue Team
Help set up, maintain and pack down the event venue, including signage, fencing, equipment, site layout and general event village support. This role requires the ability to be on your feet for extended periods and involves moderate lifting.

Start Line or Finish Line Team
This team sets up and manages the start lines in conjunction with the venue team, supports the start or finish area, helps manage participant flow, assists with timing and signage, and keeps these high-energy areas running smoothly. 
This role is typically on Friday and Saturday. 

Parking Team
Help manage vehicle flow, direct participants and supporters, and keep parking areas safe, clear and organised. This role is on event day only.

Volunteer Management
Support the volunteer crew, help with check-in, role allocation, communication and making sure volunteers feel welcomed and informed. 
This role is typically on Friday and Saturday. 

Health & Safety Team
Support the Event Operations Centre, assist with incident reporting, communication, safety checks and helping the event team respond quickly when needed. 
This role is typically on Friday and Saturday. 

Content Team
Help capture the event atmosphere through photos, video, interviews and behind-the-scenes moments for social media and event storytelling. This role requires team members to demonstrate their ability to capture quality content and to provide their own modern mobile phone or similar device for filming and photography.  
This role is on event day only.

Marketing Team
Support event communications, signage, campaign activity, social media updates and participant-facing information across event weekend. ​
This role is on event day only.

Activations Team
Help deliver sponsor, partner and event activations, creating engaging experiences for participants, supporters and the public.

​Course Operations posItions

Course Operations roles help deliver the event out on course. These roles suit practical, reliable people who are confident outdoors, comfortable working independently or in small teams, and able to follow clear event instructions. Typically these shifts for the duration of the event window unless otherwise stated.

Course Marking Team
Help mark the course before event day, including placing arrows, signage, bunting and course equipment so participants can follow the route safely and confidently. M
ust have strong knowledge of the Whakarewarewa Forest trail network

Bike Patrol Team
Ride sections of the course during event day, support participants where needed, report course issues to the event team and help keep riders moving safely. This is an event-day role only. Bike Patrol team members must have strong knowledge of the Whakarewarewa Forest trail network, their own cycling gear, the skills to ride up to Grade 4 trails, and a good level of physical fitness.

Aid Station Lead
Lead an aid station team, manage supplies, support participants, communicate with event operations and help create a positive on-course experience. 
This role is typically on Friday and Saturday. 

Course Logistics
Support the movement of equipment, signage, supplies and volunteers across the course before, during and after the event. This role may involve driving, lifting and working to tight timeframes. 
This is an event day only role, must have strong knowledge of the Whakarewarewa Forest trail network.

Course Clean Up Team
The Course Clean Up Team is a key part of the course crew, typically for mountain bike events. This team moves along the trails after the event, on foot or by bike, collecting litter and removing course markings to ensure the area is left clean and restored.
This is an event day only role.

Bike Mechanic
Provide basic mechanical support for riders on event day, including quick checks and simple repairs to help participants continue where possible. This is an event-day role only. Bike Mechanics must provide their own tools, have strong mechanical knowledge, and be confident working in a busy event environment. A sound knowledge of the Whakarewarewa Forest trail network is also preferred.
